The Society of Vertebrate Paleontology (SVP) has recently circulated a letter, dated 21st April, 2020, to more than 300 palaeontological journals, signed by the President, Vice President and a former President of the society (Rayfield et al. 2020).In this letter, significant changes to the common practices in palaeontology are requested.The vertebrate paleontology collection is a major international research resource and constitutes one of the most important records of vertebrate history and evolution in the southern plains. With over 70,000 cataloged specimens, all geological time periods in which vertebrates occur are represented.
